Launching ceremony of ‘Destiny’s Dalliance’ on Nov 8

DHAKA: The launching ceremony of a book on urban Indian woman’s situation ‘Destiny’s Dalliance’ written by Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran and Neena Thimmaya will be held on Saturday, says a press release on Wednesday.

The event will begin at Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) premises – house no. 35, road no. 24, Gulshan-1 of the city – 5:45pm on the day.

Destiny’s Dalliance reflects the situation of the urban Indian woman. The dilemma she faces whilst juxtaposing her innate values and the values of the society today.

The book launching ceremony will be followed by a discussion session on the book where prominent academic, writer critic with two discussants, Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam of Dhaka University and eminent Indiaa writer Neerupama Subramanian are scheduled to attend.

At the discussion, the author will read the book excerpt and discuss various aspects of the books with the guests.

 Entry is open to all. The attendees, however, requested not to carry bags within the IGCC premises during the event, it adds.
