Salman Shah’s mother rejects judicial probe report

DHAKA: The mother of late popular silver screen actor Shahriar Chowdhury Imon, widely know as Salman Shah, rejected the judicial probe report over the death of her son.

Salman’s mother Nilufar Chowdhury on Sunday appealed a petition with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court seeking more time to submit a ‘no confidence’ (naraji) petition.

Magistrate Amit Kumar Dey granted her petition and fixed January 21, 2015 for submission of the naraji petition.

Salman Shah allegedly committed suicide on September 6, 1996. His father Komoruddin Chowdhury filled an unnatural death case.

Later, he applied to shift the case into a murder case, alleging that his son was murdered.

Following the application, as per court order, a judicial probe committee has been formed to investigate the death of Salman Shah.

On August 3, the committee submitted a report saying the actor’s death as ‘unnatural’. As the father passed away, Salman’s mother moved for filing the naraji petition rejecting the report.
