DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday gave permission to test DNA in the rape case filed by a 19-year actress of Bangla film Naznin Akter Happy against a Bangladesh national cricket team player Rubel Hossain.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman passed the order after hearing on the case.

Earlier on Monday, Mirpur Thana Sub-Inspector Masud Parvez, also investigation officer of the case, made a plea for the DNA test before the CMM Court.

Masud told banglanews that the DNA test is important for the sake of proper investigation of the case.

Happy’s lawyer Tuhin Hawlader told banglanews that the hearing of that appeal was not held on Tuesday as the plea did not reach at court in time.

The case was filed on December 13 with Mirpur Thana under the Women Prevention and Child Repression Act.
