5-day classical music fest from Nov 27

DHAKA: A five-day classical music event ‘Bengal Classical Music Festival Bangladesh’ will kick off on November 27.

Main attraction of the festival will be the performance of tobla by Ustad Zakir Hossain and flute by Joyaprada Rammurti. Besides, renowned artistes, both from home and abroad, will perform at the festival at Army Stadium in the city.

The fourth edition of the classical music event has been dedicated to noted artist Qayyum Chowdhury.

Bengal Foundation, host of the event, informed the matters to media at a meet the press held at a city hotel on Saturday.

At the press meet, Luva Nahid Chowdhury of Bengal Foundation discussed different aspects of the festival.

The organizers said that online registration would be opened from the beginning of November.

Booth registration will be available at Bengal Gallery in Dhanmondi, Bengal Center near Shahjalal Airport, Lacknow in Banani, Kushol Centre in Uttara and Bengal Arts Precinct at Daily Star Bhaban in Karwan Bazar for limited time.

Brac Bank managing director and also chief executive officer (CEO) Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Maasranga Television CEO and also chief editor Syed Fahim Munaim, Rabo Axiata Limited chief operating officer (COO) Mahtab Uddin Ahmed and Square Toiletries Limited head of marketing Malik M. Sayeed, among others, were also present at the press meet.
