DHAKA: The Martian star made a big early splashdown in award season, winning for best actor in a musical or comedy at the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

"It’s been literally 18 years since I’ve been here doing this and with a little more context, I know how lucky I am and how lucky I am to do this for a living," Damon said. "I’ve made a lot of movies that people just didn’t go see, so (it's great) to make one that everyone enjoyed this much."

Pixar's Inside Out won for best animated feature, and Sylvester Stallone also had a big night, winning best supporting actor in a film for reprising his role of Rocky Balboa in Creed, reports the usatoday.com

"Last time I was here, it was 1977 and I was hit by tumbleweeds," said the emotional Rocky star. "It was a long time ago and a different situation. The view is so beautiful now.

"Most of all, I want to thank my imaginary friend Rocky Balboa for being the best friend I ever had."
