'Bajirao Mastani', 'Piku' get top honours at Filmfare 2016

DHAKA: One of the most prestigious awards of the Indian film industry Filmfare awards were held on January 15 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in Mumbai.

While Sanjay Leela Bahansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' won nine awards including the Best Film and the Best Director Awards, Shoojit Sircar’s 'Piku' bagged five awards. Both these films were easily the top winners of the night, reports ibnlive.com

The Best Actress accolade was won by Deepika Padukone for her unmatchable performance in 'Piku' and her rumoured beau Ranveer Singh was honoured with the Best Actor Award for his role-play of Bajirao in 'Bajirao Mastani'. Veteran actress Moushumi Chaterjee, who was last seen in 'Piku', was glorified with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
