KUSHTIA: Eminent baul singer Abdur Rob alias Gopal Shah breathed his last at the age of 75, under treatment at Kushtia General Hospital on early Sunday (August 7).

Rauf, son of late Siraj Joaddar of Baradi Fakirpara in district town, fell ill a week ago after returning from London.

He will be buried after setting up a shrine on the courtyard of his house after Asar prayers.

His wife Anjera Khatun informed banglanews that Abdur Rob took the mystic ideology of baul maestro Lalan Shah at the age of 12.

Rob received several awards by singing the songs of Lalan Shah in the UK, India, Nepal and other countries in past 44 years, she added.
