DHAKA: Popular Bangladeshi performer-cum director Tauqir Ahmed’s film ‘Oggaytonama’ was honored with Special Mention Award in Religion Today Film Festival in Italy’s Trento.

The festival, started on October 7.

The movie depicts the subhuman life of Bangladeshi expatriates in Middle East that brings the honor to Tauqir Ahmed.

He thanked the performers and crew.

Produced by Impress Telefilm Limited, the movie   ‘Oggaytonama’ was released in Bangladesh on August 19.

Fazlur Rahman Babu, Mosharraf Karim, Nipun, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Satabdi Wadud and Abul Haiyat, among others, performed in movie.

Apart from writing the script, Tauqir Ahmed also wrote two songs, sung by Rokon Imon, Pintu Ghosh and Sukonna Ghosh and composed by Pintu Ghose.

Tauqir Ahmed won award in best director category for his work ‘Oggaytonama’ in Kosovo Festival titled “The Goddess on the Throne”.
