Dhaka Int’l Film Festival from Jan 12 15th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) will begin from January 12

DHAKA: The nine-day 15th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) is set to kick off on January 12.

Rainbow Film Society, which will organize the festival, is taking preparations for the event.

Director of the event and President of Rainbow Film Society Ahmed Mujtaba Jamal said that more than 186 films from about 67 countries, including Bangladesh, will be on display in the festival.

Those films will be displayed in different places, including the National Museum Auditorium, Shawkat Osman Auditorium of the Central Public Library, Alliance Française, Star Cineplex and at American Center Auditorium.

Those films will be displayed under the categories of Asian Competition, Retrospective, and Cinema of the World, Children’s Films, Independent Films, Nordic Film Session, and Women Film Makers.

Besides, internationally renowned film directors and critics from 67 counties, embassy officials from various countries, journalists, members of Rainbow Film Society and other film societies will attend the festival here.

As part of the program, 3rd Dhaka International Women's Film Makers Conference will also be organized. The Conference will be held at the Alliance Française on January 13-14.

Eminent women directors will share their experiences with the audience which will enrich the aspirant women film makers of Bangladesh, organizers hope.

Rainbow Film Society will address a press conference at Dhaka Club on December 26 to inform about the progress and plans for the festival.
