Life Song, a divine reply to Donald Trump

“Dear Atiqur, I know that you have a poetic mind. The lyrics of the song `Sometimes Somewhere’ is quite relevant now. This could be a divine reply to the recent activities of Donald Trump.”

Above was the comment of Elvira Carvalho, a social activist from Portugal who worked for Lions Club International, in facebook on a post of Atiqur Rahman, a director of the ministry of foreign affairs of Bangladesh.

Atiqur posted a music video called `Life Song’ (Jiboner Gaan in Bangla) sung by Samuel Adhikary, Asif Riyadh Lodi, Yeasmin Ali, Atiya, Dipwannita and Robert Nelson Sircar.

Atiqur Rahman, a career bureaucrat cum diplomat of Bangladesh Government, is the lyricist.

After online publication of the song in Youtube, responses started to come from both national and international arena. Several thousands of views have been recorded and the social media posts have received hundreds of comments, mostly appreciating Atiqur Rahman, a civil service holder of Bangladesh government.

“He is very favourite of mine in civil service. Apart from his fame as a good officer, he is well known as a music loving person. And his love to music is now open to all through this song. I hope Atiqur Rahman will work more in the field of music,” A comment from Masudul Haq was saying.

Mohammad Humayun Kabir, another career bureaucrat cum diplomat and happened to be the class mate of Atiqur Rahman in the department of Mass Communication and Journalism in the university of Dhaka, says,  This wonderful song was written by our batch-mate Atiqur Rahman. Bravo. Please continue your journey in creative works.

Zia Ahmed from Australia shares the post of Atiqur with a small note that he finds the lyrics of the song heart touching and time-befitting. And Atiqur was his school friend.

Adnan Shafiq writes from Karimganj, a upazila of the district of Kishoreganj, where Atiqur once served as an Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO). Adnan remembers the dedication of Atqur as the executive head of the upazila administration and the devotion of him to the music and culture during the beginning days of bureaucratic career.

M Rahmat Ali says, Really amazing... very nice theme and melodious song as well.

“Really sir!! I am very much excited listening this song! Wonderful lyrics and good composition! I know you as a briliant officer and very good man! But newly I have known as a super song writer and music composure!!” Milton Biswas writes in his comment.

Robert Nelson Sircar, who is one of the singers, in his facebook post says, a song with solid lyrics! Heart touching & compact! So is the musical finishing! Thanks to all working behind it!

Fakhrul Islam Harun writes, “I am really astonished and feel deep respect to you for writing an exrta-ordinary lyric for the favour of ours now a day's national heroes. Again salute to you.”

Some Redwan Ahmed says, “There could be no better time for this song except now. Great work!”
