DHAKA: Indira Gandhi Culture Centre (IGCC) has organised a program ‘An Evening with Poet Syed Al Farooque and Singer Nahid Nazia’ at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in Dhaka on Saturday (April 1).
The program will be started at 6 Pm on the day, says a press release issued by the High Commission of India to Bangladesh on Wednesday (March 29).
Syed Al Farooque is a versatile poet and writer of Bangladesh who writes on Muktijuddho (Liberation War) and contemporary themes.
He has published 37 books and 16 are of poetry. His books include ‘Batashe Lasher Gondho, 1979’ (Edited on poems dedicated to Bangabundhu), “Promanno Shamsur Rahman, 1983”, “ Gulshan Bridge er pashe Prokassho Rastay, 2000”, “Sobar Upore Muktijuddha, 2000”, “Nirbachito 100 kobita, 2015”, “Kishor shomogro-1, 2015”, “Chhoto Chhoto, 2016” and many others.

Nahid Nazia is one of the most popular singers in Dhaka, London and Kolkata. She regularly performs modern, folk and Nazrul’s songs in stage shows and is an A-grade enlisted artist of Bangladesh Betar since 1980.
She also performs in BTV and other TV channels in Bangladesh, India and the USA. She has given live performances in many countries of Europe, Asia, America and Australia and has released nine albums, one of which was with renowned Bollywood Singer Shaan, Babul Supriyo and Binodh Rathode.
Her last album ‘Chirodin Suchitra-Uttam’ with singer Soumya Bose, Poet Syed Al Farooque and Reciter-Presenter Anindita Kazi was published from Impress Audio Vision (Channel-I) in 2016.
She also has worked with Film and Music director Benjamin Till and participated on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of BIG BEN.
Nazia has also worked with Music-director Garoth in a Bangla Fusion music project. She anchors a popular 2 hours’ live Musical program, Gaan Shudhu Gaan, at Betar Bangla every week.
On the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2012, she sang at the prestigious Thames Diamond Jubilee pageant.

There is no need to collect Invitation Pass as entry is open to all, the release added.
