Mala releases animated video marking Valentine’s Day Mala and a scrap from the anime video

DHAKA: Australia-based Bangladeshi singer Mala rendered her voice to the popular folk number ‘O Amar Dorodi’ and come up with an animated music video of it, said to be the first of its kind in Bangladesh.

On the eve of the Valentine’s Day, the music video was released on Eagle Music’s YouTube Channel Tuesday (February 13).

Moutushi Rahman has directed the spell-bounding music video.

With major concentration on folk-fusion, Mala is mostly celebrated for her distinctive singing style and mystic appearances in the music videos.

Regarding the latest song, Mala said: “Folk songs are our origin and can never let those be lost. Therefore, I have made little attempts to present the archetypal songs with renewed form of presentation.”

“If I say about the video (of O Amar Dorodi), Bangladesh got the first such animated (music) video.”

“Moutushi Rahman had painted the photographs over almost two years (for the video). And talented Faizaan Khan Chintu has did the music”, she added.

Earlier of that, Mala’s patriotic song ‘Amar Bangladesh, featured by noted musician Fuad Almuqtadir, was released marking Victory Day last year.
