Dengue: 5 die, 903 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Five dengue patients died and 903 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours till Monday (Oct 24) morning.

In the 24 hours, 575 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 328 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 2,290 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 1,192 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 31,966 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 28,650 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 118 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today. 

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
