Five dengue patients died and 440 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours till Friday (Oct 28) morning.

In the 24 hours, 279 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 161 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 2,280 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 1,259 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 35,266 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 31,595 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 128 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
