One dies of dengue, 647 hospitalised in last 24 hours

One more dengue patient died and 647 people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Wednesday (Oct 12), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 415 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 232 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,812 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 699 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 22,517 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 19,961 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 75 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
