Eight die of dengue, 765 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Eight more dengue patients died and 765 people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Thursday (Oct 13), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 497 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 268 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 915 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 780 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 23,282 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 20,508 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 83 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
