US concerned over political unrest

FROM NEWYORK: US congress foreign affairs house committee Chief Ed Royce expressed deep concern over ongoing political crisis of Bangladesh including attacking on minority, emerge of militancy and various others issues.

He came up with the assertion at 2:55am Wednesday in the sub-committee of US congress foreign affairs house.

Ed Royce said that we have to take immediate steps on the attacking over minority and emerge of militancy in Bangladesh.

During the hearing, the sub-committee chairman Steve Chabot said, “Bangladesh is an impressive story.”

Steve Chabot also said that Bangladesh is working as a close friend of US in finance and prevention of militancy.

Expressing hope Steve Chabot also said that 153 million people of Bangladesh live in poverty but the country will move forward to the continuous development.

Meanwhile, Committee Member Ed Sherman urged to discuss the issue of Mohammad Yunus and Grameen Bank.

Woodrow Wilson International Center Ali Riaz said US has to keep role to strengthen the democracy of Bangladesh. It has no need to US interference about the electoral system of the country.

Human Right Watch (HRW) Asia region advocacy director John Stephen, Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies president Major General (retd) Muniruzzaman and Human Rights and Woodrow Wilson International Center Ali Riaz gave depositions in the hearing.
