Israeli air strikes have killed at least 115 Palestinians across Gaza since dawn on Saturday, as the military confirmed it had begun “preparations” for an expanded offensive.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reported the rising death toll, while authorities in Houthi-controlled Yemen said at least one person was killed and nine others wounded in Israeli strikes on the ports of Hodeidah and as-Salif.
Hamas condemned the latest bombardment, urging the international community to intervene and accusing Israel of a “barbaric escalation”.
According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, Israel’s military campaign has so far killed at least 53,119 people and injured 119,919. The Government Media Office has updated the death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands more are believed to be buried under the rubble.
In Israel, around 1,139 people were killed during the Hamas-led attacks on 7 October 2023, with more than 200 others taken hostage.
