DHAKA: A blast near the home of the Egyptian interior minister in Cairo’s Nasr City district injured at least four people, but the minister was not nearby at the time.
The cause of the blast, in an area just outside central Cairo, was not immediately clear, the sources said, reports The Voice of Russia.
According to the state-run Nile TV, Egypt interior minister Mohamed Ibrahim had survived an assassination attempt.
In a separate report, Egypt’s state-run Al-Ahram newspaper said that a car bomb had exploded near his convoy.
