DHAKA: The US state department has said that it was ‘very concerned’ over a move by Bahrain forbid foreign diplomats to meet with political groups without government permission.

‘We plan to meet with Bahraini officials in the coming days to raise our concerns and to seek further information about their policy,’ state department spokeswoman Marie Harf said in Washington, reports The Voice of Russia.

‘As we do in countries around the world, we expect the government of Bahrain to respect our shared diplomatic interests in open and free communications with all elements of host-country societies.’
