DHAKA: Turkish parliament speaker Cemil Cicek on Saturday departed Ankara to hold a two-day visit in Iran during which he was set to meet with various leaders of the Islamic Republic.
Turkish daily Hurriyet reported, says The Jerusalem Post.
Cicek met with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani Saturday, according to the report.
He was also due to meet on Sunday with Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and president Hassan Rohani ahead of his expected presence at the UN General Assembly.
