DHAKA: Iran’s foreign ministry said Tuesday that no meeting between president Hassan Rohani and his American counterpart Barack Obama was on the agenda at the UN General Assembly.
‘Such a meeting is not on the agenda,’ ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham told reporters when asked about the White House not ruling out the possibility of a landmark meeting in New York, reports Turkish daily Hurriyet.
Israeli officials voiced concern earlier Tuesday over a potential meeting of the US and Iranian presidents, saying Tehran sought reconciliation with world powers as a ruse to press on with its nuclear programme.
