DHAKA: NATO secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen has expressed ‘great concern’ at reports of Libyan prime minister Ali Zeidan’s abduction, and called for his release.

‘If it’s confirmed that prime minister Zeidan has been abducted, I call for the prime minister’s immediate release,’ Rasmussen said in Brussels, reports The Voice of Russia.

‘It is important that the situation is clarified as soon as possible,’ Rasmussen said.

‘Stability and rule of law are critically important.’
