DHAKA: Miscreants torched at least ten vehicles in the city ahead of 60-hour hartal called by BNP-led 18-party alliance demanding non-party polls-time government.
At least 10 people injured while miscreants vandalized then torched a bus near Genda area of Savar upazila around 6.00pm. Later, two units of fire fighters doused the blaze and police arrested three people allegedly involved with the incident.
Miscreants set a blaze in a passenger bus near Purabi cinema hall area at Mirpur around 6.30pm; Mirpur Thana Officer-in-Charge confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Meanwhile, a human hauler was vandalized and torched later by Shibir activists near Notun Bazar area of Vatara Thana, police sources said.
Police sources said a staff bus of Janata Bank was torched near Motijheel Ideal School around 10:00am, while another bus set afire near BSTI office in Tejgaon area around 11:45am.
Another bus was torched in front of Abakash Hotel in Mohakhali area of the city around 2:00pm and a CGN-run auto-rickshaw was set ablaze at Malibagh Chowdhurypara at 1:55pm in addition to explosion of three crude bombs.

Besides, a vehicle was torched in front of Rajuk in the city around 2:25pm while a bus on Dhaka-Mawa road set afire near Gulistan Ahad Police box around 2:40pm.
Apart from this, another vehicle was torched in city’s Kataban area around 3:30pm.
Besides, Shibir activists set a blaze in Awami League office of Jatrabari and locked into a fierce clash swapping several round of bullets with police at around 3.45pm on Sunday.
Jatrabari police station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam told banglanews that additional police forces rushed to the scene to bring the situation under control.
Meanwhile, at least 15 vehicles damaged, bombs exploded and tires set on fire by the miscreants on Sunday.
Shibir activists set fire on two passenger bus near Shahbagh and Gulistan area around 2.00pm.
The unruly activists also vandalized vehicles in Sayedabad at 9:30 am.
They damaged at least 12 vehicles, including BRTC buses.
In Moghbazaar area, Shibir activists went on a rampage by exploding five crude bombs and set fire to tires at 9:00am.
