BRAHMANBARIA: Around 50 cocktails were blasted in a clash between picketers and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-police at Kalibari intersection of the town on Sunday, the first day of 84-hour hartal called by BNP led 18-party alliance.

Sources said some hartal supporters locked into clash with RAB and police around 12:00pm. Picketers threw brick chips and stones targeting RAB and blasted around 50 cocktails.

In retaliation, RAB and police opened fired tear shells and rubber bullets to bring the situation under control.
