Two motorcyclists were killed and another injured after a truck hit their bike in Khilkhet expressway area in the capital on Friday (January 26).

The deceased were identified as Sajib Hossain, 35, and Roman, 33. The injured Deen Mohammed, 35, is now receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Shahidul Islam, sub-inspector of Khilkhet Police Station, confirmed the matter.

He said the accident took place around 4:45am when the trio was returning to Dhaka from Purbachal on the motorcycle and a truck hit their bike, leaving Roman died on the spot and two other injured.

The injured Sajib and Deen Mohammad were rushed to nearby hospital. Later, as their condition deteriorated they were shifted to DMCH, where Sajib died around 7:15am, he said.

Police are trying to identify the truck, he added.
