Three killed in Gaibandha road crash

At least three fish traders were killed and five others were injured after a private car ploughed into a fish market in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha on Friday (Jan 27) night.

The accident occurred in Dharmapur Bazar around 6:30 pm.

The deceased are identified as Haren Chandra Das, 55; Pratap Chandra Das, 35; and Aijal Haque — all residents of Dharmapur village.

Gobindaganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Shamsul Alam Shah confirmed the matter.

The driver of the private car lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and plough into the crowded fish market, he said.

The injured individuals were taken to the Gobindaganj Upazila Health Complex. Later, one of the injured was shifted to the Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment.
