A woman and her two daughters were found dead and her husband was rescued in critical condition at their residence at Charaikhola Union of Nilphamari Sadar Upazila on Friday (February 2) morning.

The deceased were Tahura Begum, 30, wife of Ashikul Molla, and their daughters Tania Akhter, 11, and Jarin, 6.

The injure husband Ashikul Molla, son of former Charaikhola union parishad chairman Abdul Rauf Molla.  Ashikul, a businessman by profession, live at the house with his wife and two daughters.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nilphamari Sadar Police Station Tanvirul Islam confirmed the matter.

Police suspected that Ashikul strangulated his wife and two children at their bedroom and attempted to kill himself by slitting his neck with sharp weapon.

The reason behind the incident could not be known immediately, he added.
