Police arrested a youth along with fake notes in Borgua sadar upazila on Tuesday (February 6).

Emran, 25, son of Khalil Kha, was arrested from Upazila Chattar area. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barguna Sadar Police Station KM Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said members of police arrested Emran when he was about to transfer fake notes to a member of a scam circle through Sundarban Courier Service.

A total of Tk 8,000 was recovered from Emran, said Mizanur Rahman.

“Primarily we doubt that Emran is a member of fraud ring. A case will be filed against him under the Counterfeit Currency Control Act,” the official added.
