Shift 240 families to safe place, directs Bandarban DC

Bandarban Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shah Mujahid Uddin today (February 6) directed authority concerned to shift 240 families to a safe place.

He made the directive this afternoon during his visit to Naikhongchhari border area following conflict between Myanmar army and the rebel group.

DC Mujahid said, “There is internal conflict between Myanmar army and the rebel group going on, following the incident authority concerned has been asked to take necessary step about shifting students and the families living along the border area.”

“At the same time, it has been instructed that schools along the border area will remain closed until the situation is under control,” he added.

However, DC and the police super during their visit talked to the family members of Hosne Ara who was killed as a mortar shell from Myanmar struck on Monday noon.

After the meeting, Hosne Ara's family was compensated by Tk 20,000 on behalf of the administration, said DC Mujahid while talking to the reporters.
