At least two people were killed and 15 others injured after a bus fell into a ditch at Galachipa uapzila in Patuakhali on Thursday (February 8).

The incident took place around 4:15 pm on the Patuakhali-Galachipa regional road near Badura Bazar.

Deceased Rahat, 21, and Belal, 23, were residents of Gagalia area in the upazila.

According to police, a bus of Imran Paribahan fell into a road-side ditch after its driver had lost control over the steering while trying to give side to another bus, leaving two dead on the spot and 15 others injured.

The injured were taken to hospital, however, two of them were in critical condition.

Officer-in-charge of Galachipa Police Station Ferdous Alam, confirming the matter said they recovered the bodies.

Legal steps in this regard were under process, he added.
