A truck driver's assistant was killed, and 10 other passengers were injured in a collision between two trucks and a microbus in Sitakunda.

The accident occurred in the Kamaldah area of Dhaka-Chattogram highway in the early hours of Friday (February 9).

The deceased could not be identified immediately, but his age is around 26, according to locals.

Senior Station Officer of Sitakunda Fire Service Nurul Alam Dulal confirmed the matter.

He said a cargo truck coming from Chattogram lost control over steering at Kamaldah area of the highway around 4 am and hit back of the another truck parked on the Dhaka-bound road.

Later, the truck hit the back of a microbus carrying passengers. The body has been handed over to the highway police, he said.

Inspector Abdul Hakeem Azad in charge of Kumira Highway Police Outpost said two trucks and a microbus have been seized.
