A woman was allegedly raped by unidentified miscreants at Rauli village in Paikgachha upazila of Khulna Monday (February 12).

According to victim’s family, some unidentified men entered the bedroom of the woman breaking the door of the stairs on Sunday night. Later, they tied the hands and feet of the housewife, used glue on her eyes and covered her mouth with tape and raped her.

The victim’s son alleged that the miscreants also looted a pair of gold earrings and approximately Tk 2 lakh.

They said hearing her screams, the neighbours came and rescued her and later admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Paikgacha Police Station Obaidur Rahman confirmed the matter. 

He said it is not possible to say whether she was raped or given glue. Police have visited the spot and a high-level investigation has started.

No case was filed over the incident, he added.
