Police arrested the driver and helper of a bus in connection with a road accident that killed seven people in Alalpur area of Mymensingh on Friday (February 16) morning.

Kotwali Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Main Uddin confirmed the matter today (February 17). 

The arrestees were identified as Sirajul Islam, 45, driver of Adil Sarker Paribahan bus and son of Habib Chan and his helper Zafar Mia Jony, 42, son of Anisur Rahman of Mirganj.

Police conducted a drive at Jhenaigati upazila of in Sherpur district town and arrested duo around 11:30pm on Friday, Main Uddin said. 

Earlier on Friday, a total seven people were killed when the bus rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Alalpur in Sadar upazila of Mymensingh district.
