Rohingya man stabbed dead in Cox’s Bazar

A Rohingya man was stabbed to death by some unknown miscreants at Ukhiya’s Jamtoli camp in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Badsha Mia, 38, son of Sirajul Mia, a resident of Jamtoli Rohingya camp in Ukhiya.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (SP) Khandkar Fazle Rabbi of 8 Armed Police Battalion engaged in security of Rohingya camp confirmed the matter.

He said some 4-5 miscreants called Badsha Mia out his house, beat him and then fled after stabbing him.

Locals rescued Badsha and took him to MSF Hospital where a doctor declared him dead.

The body was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the officer said.

The motive behind the murder is yet to be known, he added.
