At least four passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed after being hit by a pickup van in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail on Sunday (February 18).

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

The accident happened this afternoon in Telipara of Bamboo Oil Union of the upazila.

Humayun Kabir in-charge of Bansoil police outpost confirmed the matter.

He said an auto rickshaw coming from the opposite direction carrying three passengers was hit by a pickup van coming from Sokhipur, leaving them dead on the spot. 

In the incident, two others were injured. The injured were rushed in critical condition to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital where doctors declared one dead, he added.
