A total of 15 youths among the selected 95 left Dhaka for participating forthcoming World Youth Festival, scheduled in Russia's Sirius Federal Territory (Sochi) from 1 to March 7.
They traveled from Dhaka to Moscow on a Turkish Airlines flight at 7:15 am on Tuesday (February 27).
They will arrive in Moscow on Wednesday (February 28) morning and from there on another flight to Sochi in the afternoon.
The young Bangladeshi delegates are set to represent their nation at this esteemed gathering, in a display of long-standing friendship between Bangladesh and Russia.
Bangladesh's delegation of 95 young individuals will engage in various activities, including cultural events, workshops, discussion forums, and sports competitions, to showcase Bangladesh's cultural richness.
Russian authorities have made extensive preparations for this grand event, including exhibitions highlighting cultural diversity, traditional cuisines, attire, regional cultures, science and technology exhibitions, sports competitions, and cultural performances.
Besides, the festival aims to promote global peace and prosperity by showcasing Russian culture and fostering international understanding.
A dedicated stall has already been secured for Bangladesh at the festival venue, serving as a hub for showcasing the nation's tourism sector, handicrafts, traditional attire, pottery, folk art, sweets and cuisine.
