A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion-2 (RAB) imprisoned and fined 41 alleged brokers after arresting them from four hospitals at Sher-E-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Wednesday (Feb 28).

The hospitals are Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Dhaka Shishu (Children) Hospital and National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR).

Major Mohammad Nazmullahel Wadud, Deputy Commander of RAB-2, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said that the middlemen have been disturbing patients and their relatives at the hospitals in the name of providing better treatment for a long. 

They have also taken handsome amount of money from many patients or their relatives.

On such information, the mobile court led by the elite force’s Executive Magistrates Abu Hasan and Mazharul Islam held them from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

Upon their confessional statements, they were declared with different terms of imprisonment and fine.
