A fire broke out at a branch of UCB bank in Rifle Club building in the port city at 7pm Saturday (March 16). 

The Rifle Club building hosts hundreds of electronic shops.

Mohammad Abdullah, deputy assistant director of Chattogram fire service and civil defense confirmed the matter. 

Six firefighting units are still working to douse the flames, he added. 

The concerned branch of UCB bank was closed when the fire was first reported by one of the bank’s security guards, and the cause of the fire is yet to be known.
