A man was killed and 15 others were injured in a road accident in a head-on collision between two buses on the Narail. 

The incident happened in Durbajuri area under Sadar upazila of the district today (April 10).

The deceased was identified as driver Zafar Biswas, 50, a resident of Jamdia village under Bagherpara  upazila of Jashore district. He was a driver.

According to police the accident occurred in the area when  a Jashore-bound passenger bus of  Liton Travels from Dhaka  collided head-on  with a Narail-bound passenger local bus  from  Jashore  coming from the opposite direction around  10:30am, leaving driver of the local bus dead on the spot and  15 passengers of both bus  injured. 

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station Md. Saiful Islam confirmed the matter.

Police recovered the body from the spot and sent to Narail Sadar Hospital, he said.

The injured were taken to Narail Sadar Hospital, OC said.

Police seized the two vehicles from the spot.

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
