Two people were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Douatola area on Narail-Lohagra road on Thursday.

One of the victims was identified as Alsaaf Matubbar, 22, son of Asad Matubbar of Kumarpotti village in Saltha Upazila of Faridpur. 

The injured are- Mostak Sardar, 30, and Mustakin, 20, hailing from Faridpur.

The accident took place around 9:30pm, according to police and local sources.

They also said Alsaaf, Mostak and Mustakin are on their way to Narail from Faridpur on a motorcycle. Suddenly it lost control and hit a roadside tree on Narail-Lohagara road, they added.

Alsaaf died on the spot, the two other bike riders and a pedestrian were severely injured. Later, they were taken to Narail Sadar Hospital.

Alok Kumar Bagchi, the duty doctor in the emergency department of Narail Sadar Hospital said one person (Alsaaf) was already dead when brought here, and another injured person died while undergoing treatment as his injuries were serious. The remaining two were given necessary first-aid and sent to Dhaka for better treatment.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Saiful Islam said necessary legal steps would be taken soon.
