NARSINGDI: Chief Justice Mohammad Fazlul Karim suggested the judges to complete day’s trial tasks on the day to speed up the judicial process, as reports say courts are heaving with huge backlog of cases.

His directive came while speaking at a reception accorded to him by Narsingdi District Bar Association Friday at the association auditorium in the town.

Chief Justice Fazlul Karim said, “Speedy trial is an imperative to ensure proper judgment. The judges should complete the day’s trial the same day so that the litigants never face harassment in the court.”

The chief of country’s judiciary had a wise word about the harm of venal practice on the sacrosanct premises. “The nation will have to pay for any disorder in the trial system caused by any dishonest person in the judiciary,” he said.

He asked the bench and the bar to work together to ensure justice for all.

Supreme Court Registrar Md. Ashraful Islam, District and Sessions Judge Dr. Md. Shahjahan Saju, Judge of Speedy Tribunal against Women and Child Repression Md. Sadiqul IslamTalukder and Chief Judicial Magistrate Abu Syed Dilzer were present on the occasion. Bar Association president Advocate Mamunur Rashid presided.
