Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (April 15) predicted that a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over six divisions and other two northern districts.
According to the BMD bulletin, mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Rangpur and Nilphamari and it may continue.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in the next 24 hours from 9 am today.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.
Country’s maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 40.0 degrees Celsius at Rangamati and the minimum temperature today was 21.4 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.
Trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and the adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.
The sun sets at 6.20pm today and rises at 5.36am tomorrow in the capital.
