Bangladesh Meteorology Department today (May 22) predicted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at many places over two northern divisions; at a few places over four divisions and at one or two places over two southern divisions.
According to met office forecast "rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions; at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions".
A low pressure area has formed over southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay. It is likely to intensify further.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over Sylhet division and the districts of Dhaka, Netrokona, Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni, Cox's Bazar, Bagerhat, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 37.5 degree Celsius at Chuadanga and minimum temperature today was recorded 22.4 degree Celsius at Tetulia.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6 am today was recorded 64 millimeters (mm) at Patuakhali.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country. Due to increase of moisture incursion the discomfort may increase.
The sun sets at 06.38 pm and rises at 05.12 am tomorrow in the capital.
