Around 15,000 towers of various mobile operators in different districts have obsoleted due to cyclone Remal that smashed into low-lying areas of Bangladesh.
People from different areas including the coast are not being able to use calls and internet due to disrupted mobile services.
Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB) confirmed the matter in a press briefing today (May 27).
The association said, around 15,000 mobile towers are currently down in nine districts due to cyclone Remal.
Mobile operators along with the Power Authority, Department of Posts and Telecommunications and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) making efforts to restore the network quickly, AMTOB authority added.
