West Bengal Chief Minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee on Friday (August 9) congratulated Professor Muhammad Yunus on the assumption of his new responsibilities as chief adviser to Bangladesh's interim government.
"My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Professor Muhammad Yunus and all those who have taken charge in Bangladesh (interim government). I hope our relations with them will improve further. I wish for the progress, peace, and prosperity of Bangladesh and the well-being of people,” she posted on her verified Facebook account in the morning.
Mamata conveyed her warm regards to everyone, including students, youth, workers, farmers, and women, expressing hope that the crisis in Bangladesh will soon be over and peace will return.
“May peace come back to this world of love we share. When our neighbouring country is well, we too will be well," she wrote.
