The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been instructed to hoist local cautionary signal-3 as the deep depression over the North-West central Bay of Bengal has intensified.

A weather warning signed by Meteorologist Md Hafizur Rahman confirmed the matter at 10:00am on Friday.

According to the warning message, deep circulating clouds are forming in the North Bay of Bengal under the influence of low pressure. Gusty and gale-force winds may blow over the North Bay of Bengal, coastal areas of Bangladesh and sea ports. 

Fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay of Bengal have also been asked to proceed with caution near the coast until further notice.
