A Dhaka court today (September 11) sent former inspector general of police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque to jail in a murder case after completion of his seven-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider issued the order this morning after investigation officer New Market police Station SI Bayezid Bostami pleaded to keep him in jail until the case investigation ends.
On September 3, Shahidul Haque was arrested from Uttara in the capital in a case filed over the death of trader Abdul Wadud at the New Market area in the capital on July 19 during the quota reform movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Akteruzzamanin placed him on remand on September 4 in the murder case.
