The interim government will hold its first meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) today (Sept 18), where five project proposals, including two new ones, are expected to be discussed.
Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor of the interim government and Ecnec's chairperson, will lead the meeting at his office in Tejgaon in the capital.
Planning and Education Advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud is expected to provide a press briefing at the Planning Commission in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar after the meeting.
The previous Ecnec meeting, held on July 2, took place under the Awami League government at the Planning Commission.
Among the projects, revisions are expected for the "Bakhrabad-Meghnaghat-Haripur Gas Transmission Pipeline", the "Tottho Apa: Empowering Women Through ICT Towards Digital Bangladesh Project", and an infrastructure project for the Langalbandha Mohashtami Punnayasnan Utsab.
The two new projects include the "Two Appraisal Cum Development Wells (Sundalpur-4 & Srikil-5) and Two Exploratory Wells (Sundalpur South-1 & Jamalur-1)" project and the "Sustainable Social Services Delivery in Chittagong Hill Tracts (2nd Phase)" project.
