DHAKA: Police in a drive held 42 people and seized huge arms, ammunition from a hostel of Mirpur Bangla College in the capital early Wednesday.

The identity of the detainees could not be known immediately.

Darus Salam Thana Sub-Inspector Liton said that two groups of people locked into clash at night. On information, police raided the college hostel and held those people with firearms.

Police, however, seized 21 lethal weapons, three pistols, three magazines and fourteen rounds of bullets.

The detainees were sent to Mirpur Thana.
